Yes – but it depends on how much astigmatism you have – high amounts are difficult to correct but lower amounts are done routinely.

Yes, depends on the amount of the astigmatism though. If you have small amounts of astigmatism it can easily corrected, but if you have high amounts, it might not be able to, or they may have to use a different surgery to correct it other than LASIK, it will be up to the surgeon, what procedure he would do then. ALSO NOTE to ALL YAHOO USERS: this is just my opinion and our advice and you should always see YOUR doctor for a complete evaluation.

I have astigmatism, too. I went to see the doc not too long ago, and she told me that I would be a good candidate. It depends on the degree of astigmatism. Call around and see if any doctors will give you a free look-over.

LASIK eye surgery is approved to treat astigmatism. Astigmatism occurs when your eye is irregularly shaped. This causes light to scatter. It is amazing the level of astigmatism that can be treated. Different lasers treat astigmatism differently and with different ranges. For the VISX Star S4 laser, we can treat up to 5 diopters of corneal astigmatism with a noncustom treatment and up to 3 diopters of corneal astigmatism with a custom treatment. As always, you can get a LASIK consultation to see if LASIK surgery is a good option for you.
