Trying To Understand Could I Join The Army If I Have -FAQ

I wanted to join the army, but my vision is so bad, I can’t even read something a foot away from me so I am near sighted. I wanted to get lasik eye surgery and if all goes well I wondered if I could join the army. I also wanted to go to college a become a FBI profiler. I know my plan sounds complicated but that’s what I want to do.

    you can join the army even without the eyes surgery, the army has one of the lowest standerds of all our armed forces, there starting to let felons in for goodness sake. :) good luck though I wana be in the Navy myself!

    Yes you may join. If you join without getting the lasik you’ll have to have to wear glasses and then once you’re in they will give you the lasik eye surgery. (along with pain meds and mandatory rest time haha)

    They’ll let you join. Depending on your job, they might even pay for you to get lasik after a few years.

    That is a cool and honorable career path. You are in luck. If you fix your vision problems with LASIK, you will be able to do anything that requires good vision. This means, joining the army, FBI, flying planes, etc. Good luck

    If you join the army and qualify for it, they will pay for your lasik eye surgery. You have to get checked out at MEPS first.
