A Web Article: How Can I Check The Reputation On A -FAQ
I’m having Lasek (yes, Lasek, not lasik) eye surgery March 6th with Dr. Haddah at the Laser eye Institute in Troy, Michigan.
I went for my first consultation today. The prices seemed SO high. But he talked a big game about how he has only 1 of 4 special CustomVew machines in the state of Michigan.
While he actually might be great and the best there is, I just had this feeling he was almost trying TOO hard.
Is there anywhere I could check for comments about him? I tried better business bureau and there was nothing on him or the office. (which I guess no news is good news)
My total procedure they want to charge me $3600. Is that a lot? I’m having Lasek in both eyes plus a thing called CustomVew which is for a astigmatism to stop the halos around lights in the dark…
Any advice would be amazing!!! Thanks!!!

That price is actually not bad for a reputable surgeon, in fact that is on par with what we charge at my office. As for the other factor, not sure where to find out, but you can usually check with your state medical review board to see if there have been any negative reports or malpractice claims.

Although I do not perform LASIK surgery I work with a number of very good refractive surgeons. $3,600 for both eyes using CustomVue is a reasonable fee.
As for choosing your LASEK surgeon, I have written a document to help patients choose a cataract surgeon. It can also be applied to choosing a LASEK surgeon and can be found by going to the link:
