This is a question that should only be answered by your ophthalmologist. The answer is too critical to depend on the answers provided by the Yahoo answerers.

There is no much danger for post-poning of cataract removal procedure. once it is completely thick and matured in all respects then it should be surgically i.e. laser technology.. The earlier the better and he can recover with good sight like that of earlier days.. A new IOL ‘ll be fixed and sight will be restored most convincingly. I think the patient’s sugar and all other levels should monitored closely and clear him for the short and simple procedure.

I think you should get it done soon. I started to get a cataract shortly after I had a detached retina surgery and I had it removed as soon as possible. The new lens works great and I haven’t had any problems with it since I had it done about 8 years ago. The fake lenses cannot focus up close like a real lens, but then I’m sure nowadays they should make them even better than mine.
