How Do You Adjust The Rear Sight On

I just got a Ruger p85 pistol and the previous owner had the rear sight, which is adjustable for windage, all the way to the right. According to the manual there might be some kind of screw related to this, but I’ve been over it a dozen times and don’t see anything. Additionally I cannot force the sight into the center using my hands and I don’t want to hit it with anything. Anyone know how this is supposed to be correctly shifted?

If you don’t see any screws on the sight, then it is not an adjustable sight.
With that said, you can adjust the windage by moving the sight right or left in the dovetail it sets in. to do this, you will need a brass punch and a hammer to GENTLY tap the sight into alignment.

Another way to to move the rear sight is with a sight pusher. this is a device made for moving sight bases in dovetail mounts that you can buy from a shooter supply.

I am not familiar with the ruger p85, but these methods are the most common for most pistols. perhaps there might be a set screw on the bottom of the slide that could be loosened so the sight would move. i have never seen this on a pistol, but it wouldn’t hurt to look.
