When eye surgery first came out. Like I mean right after all the research and clinical trials, how much did eye surgery cost?

Used to be about $5000 per eye.

At the very very beginning when LASIK, if you’re talking about this surgery, it used to be available to the rich for hundreds of thousands of dollars. If you’re referring to another surgery, like cataracs surgery that’s a different story. LASIK is now around 4-5k for each eye, depends on your prescription.

I had lasik performed earlier this year and it cost me about 4k total to have both eyes done. The price has come down since they first started performing the surgery.
