If You Have Lazer Eye Surgery, When You
I was just wondering if when you get lazer eye surgery, if your bad eye sight will still be passed onto your kids or if the surgery will change your eyes and your children will not be affected.

If it’s a genetic disorder the Lazik will not correct your genetics, just the end result.

Yes. Your bad eye sight is in your genes. Correcting your eye sight becomes and acquired characteristic.
It is the same concept of cutting an arm off of someone. Their kids will not be born with a missing arm.

Unfortunately, no. Your genes play a big part in the reason why you see the way that you do. You going and getting your eyes corrected will not change the genes you inherited from your parents and the genes they inherited from their parents and so on with your future kids.

Just research on your first degree relatives and their children. If they have got same eye problem as yours, then it may be familial (genetically determined). And, even if it is familial it may affect either half of your children (theoretically not practically) if the disorder is Autosomal dominant, or one fourth of them if it is Autosomal recessive.
