I personally have never heard of that being recommended because for some people, that could cause some serious adjustment problems while one eye is healing and the other still needs to be operated on. What would they do for glasses in the meantime? For people who have strong prescriptions, that could pose a real problem.

There is no guarantee with infection with laser correction. Risk is around 3 to 5 / 20,000 people. Personally i used to perform one eye at a time, leave for one week then second eye. However, i have switched to bilateral procedure since 2003. No case of infection had over been reported in over 10 years of practise, but there is no guarantee. i still offer one eye at a time surgery if patient wishes for that.
